The Nelson Community Food Bank delivers food parcels to families and individuals experiencing hardship in the Nelson and Tasman area.
We rely on the generosity of our community.
The Food Bank is staffed by volunteers, a part-time Manager and a part-time Administrator. We are funded by individuals, trusts and local businesses.

VOLUNTEER
Volunteers are essential to the running of the Food Bank.
We are very grateful to our dedicated team of volunteers who gather resources and who pack and deliver food parcels to people in need.
Our volunteers commit to one day every fortnight. They usually start around 10am and finish around 1pm on that day. The work involves packing food parcels and delivering them to people in need around the Nelson & Tasman regions. The parcels are heavy and our volunteers need to be able to lift these in and out of their car.
Our volunteers are reimbursed for mileage.
